About Us

Editor - Gerard Pearson Gerard Pearson
His first logged flight was in an Aeronca Champ, in June, 1956. He graduated from Colorado State University in 1964, and was designated a Naval Aviator-May, 1966. He then made two combat tours in Vietnam flying the F-8 Crusader from aircraft carriers Bon Homme Richard and Hancock. After active duty, he continued flying the F-8 and F-4 Phantom in the Naval Reserves, and retired as Captain from the Naval Reserves in 1989. He joined TWA as a pilot in 1969, and retired early, just prior to their first bankruptcy, in December, 1991. He has owned six general aviation aircraft over the past years- two Cessna 180s, a M-5 Maule, a Cessna T-210, a Ximango motor glider, and a RV-6. The holder of ATP-AMEL, Commercial-ASELS, Private-Glider, and Flight Engineer certificates, he has accumulated in excess of 10,000 hours in a variety of aircraft. He resides with his wife of 45+ years in Pagosa Springs, Colorado.

Associate Editor, Airlines - Tom Brown Tom Brown
With a B.A. degree from Western Michigan University, Tom Brown entered flight training with the U.S. Navy in 1964. After earning his Navy wings in 1966, he flew P-5M Marlins and P-3B Orions in Pacific fleet squadrons. In 1969, he left active duty, and was hired by TWA at the tail end of the pilot hiring boom of the 1960s. Multiple pilot furloughs at TWA gave him the "opportunity" for two more active duty Navy tours, extensive flying in the P-3 and eventual retirement as a Commander, Naval Reserve. Additionally, he held various jobs at TWA, from working on the ramp in San Francisco to management positions in New York. He was active in the TWA pilot's union (Air Line Pilots Association), serving on various committees, as a local Council officer, and TWA Master Chairman. Tom closed out his TWA career in 2000, retiring as an MD-80 Captain.

As head of a small aviation consulting company based in New Jersey, Tom remains a dedicated life-long student and observer of the airline industry,. He still flies frequently, and continues to be involved in the many major issues facing the airline industry. Tom and his wife of forty-plus years and two large dogs reside in Connecticut, and travel America in their RV. As a hobby, Tom works as a pyrotechnician on fireworks displays world-wide.
